Michael Gates, who was elected City Attorney in Huntington Beach in 2014, was re-elected in 2018, and in 2022 will be with us for a special engagement about cities and their ability to fight the State of California in a legal capacity.

Years ago, Our Neighborhood Voices (ONV) c(4) submitted a potential ballot measure to test the waters, and the State Attorney General’s office gave ONV a deceitful, misleading “Title and Summary”. Mr. Gates, who is running for the State Attorney General’s office, will be able to tell us about these steps and our ability to fight back for the next time we submit our ballot measure.

Huntington Beach has been a leader in fighting back against the State of California; we can learn a lot. Come to our meeting and find out how to inform your city council about ways to fight back against this overreach.
